Xbox Game Pass is making four more games available to subscribers, including a title released on day one and three additions for Core plan subscribers.
Xbox Game Pass Core, launched in September 2023, replaced Xbox Live Gold and eliminated the two monthly free games previously offered. In contrast, for the same price, Core offers a catalogue of more than 25 games for subscribers to enjoy whenever they want, with the selection of titles being updated around two to three times a year.
In addition to the attractiveness of Xbox Game Pass Core, PC Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate subscribers also have access to various titles on launch day. The game coming to Game Pass on 9 May is “Little Kitty, Big City”, an open-world adventure that puts players in the role of an adorable black cat lost in the city.
On 8 August, subscribers will have access to “SteamWorld Heist 2” on launch day. The turn-based adventure game stars Captain Leeway and his team, who set out on a mission to discover why the water has suddenly turned deadly.
Before the releases of “Little Kitty, Big City” and “SteamWorld Heist 2”, Xbox Game Pass subscribers will be able to try out “Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes” on launch day, 23 April. The RPG is directed and produced by Yoshitaka Murayama, creator of “Suikoden”, and is already receiving great reviews, with a “Strong” rating on OpenCritic and “Generally Favourable” on Metacritic at the time of writing. A spiritual successor to “Suikoden”, the game began as a Kickstarter project and is being praised for its epic adventure and huge cast of characters, reminiscent of classic JRPGs.

Xbox Game Pass Core also adds three games on 23 April: Deep Rock Galactic, Superhot: Mind Control Delete and Wreckfest. These titles were once part of the Xbox Game Pass catalogue, but Wreckfest was removed in May 2022, so fans should be happy with its return to the subscription service.
One of the advantages (and disadvantages, depending on your perspective) of Xbox Game Pass is that games are removed and replaced with new titles on a regular basis. Along with Have a Nice Death, the quirky and charming Souls-like game Another Crab’s Treasure will be released on 1 April, but Xbox Game Pass will also lose six games on the same day, including Ravenlok and 7 Days to Die.
